Welcome from Sally & Barry

What happened last week

Monday's Open Mic' Night turned out to be the best one to date, fantastic crowd, fantastic turn out of musicians, what a way to finish Christmas.

Tuesday night New Years Eve with The Three Amigo's & Free & Co was quieter than we anticipated, but the people who did turn out certainly enjoyed themselves.

Wednesday New Years Day got up late, back to The Runner to clean the streamers & poppers from everywhere.

Thursday, a quiet night no band, just chilling out and recovering from the festivities.

Friday night, a good night with local band Luga who played some really good covers of The Small Faces, Beatles and other 60's bands, you really should check these lads out next time.

Saturday was 101 Proof Steve Earle, The Eagles this band played some of the best Country Rock you will hear anywhere.

Sunday night The Beer Monsters who are Robin drums, Huw bass and Paul lead guitar & vocals. The Monsters are without a doubt the band that can play any style of music written, and play it well. Two hours of entertainment for free, better value can not be had anywhere for that.

The Academy of Sound Joke of the Week

Two girls are walking along when they hear... "Psst! Down here!" They both look down and see a frog sitting beside the road. The frog says to them, "Hey, if you kiss me I'll turn into a world famous drummer and make you both rich and famous!" The two girls looked at each other, and one of them reached down and grabbed the frog and stuffed it in her pocket. The other girl said, "What did you do that for?" The first replied, "I'm not stupid. I know a talking frog is worth heaps more than a famous drummer any day!!!"
